Voter Registation
If there's one thing about voting in Louisiana that's true, it's that it ain't easy to do! It's important to me even outside of this election that you have the ability to make your voice heard! So below I've put down all the links and steps you'd need to check your voter registation and to get it up to date. How to check or change your registation
Before you can vote, we gotta know if your registation is up to date! So use the steps below to check it, change it, or get registered outright. Please keep in mind that there are a number of issues that can come up during this process, but don't worry! Even if you have trouble, there are resources out there that can help. If you reach out, I'll get you in touch with them.
Go to the Louisiana Secretary of State's website and go to the voter registation section. You can do that by using the link HERE
Step 1:
Once on the page there should be a large blue button with the words "CLICK HERE TO REGISTER TO VOTE OR CHANGE YOUR REGISTRATION", click on that and go to the next page!
Step 2:
Now that you're on this page, what you do next depends on what you want to do!
Step 3:
New Registration:
If you are trying to register for the first time, you need to pick the top option on the first page. From there, you'll need to fill out the questions they give you. You will need the following in order to register to vote:
1. An address within the state
2. A valid Social Security Number
3. A valid driver's license along with its number
Once you finish filling out their questions, your information will be submitted, and the Secretary of State should mail and email you all the needed information.
Updating Registration:
If you need to update your registation you need to select the bottom option on this screen. After you pick that option, then you have to select all of the sections you wish to update like your name or party affiliation. Once you've got that submitted, you just need to put your name, and either your zip code or date of birth, and then it should get updated!
